Gnamaliyil kaeda naan en urudhiya
naadi ninuruvaen Arunachala

Meaning 1: Arunachala! How and where can someone like me, who is  worse than a dog, find the strength and determination to find you?
Meaning 2: Arunachala! Am I worse than a lowly dog? Even a dog finds his master following his scent no matter how far he has come away. Is my mind worse than the dog’s? Just as a dog finds his master, I will find the strength to find you.
Explanation
Bhagavan is declaring bravely because he was already taken over by Arunachala. Without strong determination and sincere efforts one cannot find his real self, as stressed by Vaasishtam. This self enquiry (and its reward) was bestowed upon Bhagavan as his birthright by Arunachala.

Just as one uses the ray of sunshine coming through the roof into one’s house, one should follow the source of all thoughts to the ‘I’. That is the meaning of this verse.

This is my attempt at translating T.R.Kanakammal's Nool Thirattu in English for those devotees who don't understand Tamil. Hope it helps you. Ramana Saranam! Periyava Saranam!
