Neeratr azhiven Arunachala
Meaning
Arunachala! If you don’t merge with me and be one with me, my physical form will melt and dissolve in anguish in my (overflowing) tears.
Explanation
This verse refers to the sorrow of the ‘bride’. She wonders if an ideal groom like Arunachala does not join her in marital union, what is the point of being alive? The body will dissolve in the tears that will overflow as a result of the separation says Bhagavan. Seeing His glorious form, eyes well up with tears. The desire/yearning of the mind/heart to merge with Him expands like an ocean. Not being able to tolerate this pathetic situation, I will drown in the tears and die, says Bhagavan. The text means that of God does not take us as His own property/belonging (udamai), we cannot escape from the ocean of samsara.
